🧵 The Great British Sewing Bee Challenge – My Handmade Journey Begins

If you’re anything like me, you’ve got a stash of beautiful fabrics tucked away for “just the right project” — and a collection of sewing patterns you’ve been meaning to try one day. Well, I’ve decided that one day is now!

Inspired by the Great British Sewing Bee, I’m setting myself a little personal challenge: to complete all the pattern and made-to-measure challenges from the show.

It’s part skill-builder, part stash-buster, and part creative adventure — a chance to step outside my usual projects and really test my sewing knowledge.

Each week (or however long it takes — let’s be honest!), I’ll share my progress here:

✨ which pattern I chose

✨ how I adapted it

✨ what I learned

✨ and, of course, the triumphs and the unpicking sessions along the way!

This project will also be a way to showcase the range of garments I can make — from casual everyday pieces to tailored designs — and the different techniques that go into bringing each one to life.

If you fall in love with any of the pieces along the way, I’ll also be offering custom orders inspired by these projects — so if you see something you like, feel free to drop me a line!

I’m excited to rediscover forgotten fabrics, try new techniques, and hopefully inspire others to dust off their machines and sew something just for the joy of it.
